Accident Investigation
Course Description:
This course is required for all enforcement personnel. This course covers the key elements that are essential to conducting successful accident investigations. This is a Blended Learning Course. Students must complete a web-based training portion of the course prior to attending the resident portion. The web-based portion may require up to 5 hours seat time. Major topics include investigation planning, documenting the scene, collecting facts through interviewing, failure analysis and analytical tools, collecting and analyzing physical evidence, and control strategies. Using a case file and interactive class workshops, students work in teams to gather and analyze evidence to develop facts, findings, and conclusions.
