Introduction to Ionizing Radiation Protection at DOE Facilities
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide an understanding of ionizing radiation protection at DOE facilities. This course is entirely web-based. Topics covered include radiation units and exposure, biological effects of radiation, radiation protection standards, radiation protection program elements, methods of measurement, and radiation alarms and emergencies. Class length is approximately five hours. Viewing the prerequisite CD, which can be accessed from within the course, takes approx two hours. Prerequisites: Introduction to the Department of Energy CD; this CD can be accessed through the web course itself.
